Oakland Magazine: JINYA Ramen Bar Opens in Pleasanton

JINYA Ramen Bar launched its second Bay Area location this week.

The new JINYA opened in Pleasanton, joining the brand’s thirty-plus locations across the US and Canada.

The family-helmed group began when JINYA Ramen Bar founder Tomonori Takahashi launched the first JINYA in Tokyo in 2000. After starting six successful restaurants in Japan, Takahashi brought his ramen expertise across the Pacific. His first US restaurant was in Studio City, CA.

The restaurant’s ramen-focused menu, as served in the Pleasanton space, offers thirteen signature bowls, featuring five kinds of broth simmered for ten hours, noodles aged for three days, and more than twenty different toppings, as well as small bites such as Mini Tacos, Pork Gyoza, and Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura.

Specific ramen dishes include Slurp Up Cilantro, Tonkotsu Black, Spicy Umami Miso, Lobster Me Happy, Wonton Chicken, and more.

Desserts include ice-cream bars, panna cotta, and mochi ice cream.

Local craft beers, wine, and sake are available, along with Japanese-inspired cocktails.
